Scott, the timing of the delivery for a Friday is sweeet! :D Now, make sure you drive the wheels off it this weekend so you can get to that magic 500 mile mark. Then stop wherever you are, rev to 2500 rpms, drop the clutch, speed shift to 2nd, then 3rd, then 4th--- Well, at least that's what I did with mine. Sorry, I got a little carried away there.

I am not complaining since that is how I pay the bills including this new "toy". I will post pictures if I can figure out how. Maybe I can e mail them to Frank and he might post them on my behalf? How about it Frank? Bill

I got it

Oh my god...this car is awesome. The truck driver called and said he would be late because he broke down. He got here about 7:30 PM. When he unloaded the car, I couldn't stop smiling. It's absolutely gorgeous. I took it out for a couple short drives, then took a friend and went on a 200 mile trek. I kept the revs under 3000 except for maybe two times, and kept off full throttle except for maybe 3 or 4 times. When I did run at full throttle it was only for a second or two. But even part throttle....this car is so fast! I have come nowhere near the limits of the car, but very soon I will. I absolutely love it. The gauges, the HUD, the seats, everything is awesome. I'm still getting used to the shifter and clutch (The hurst shifter and centerforce clutch in my 71 take a lot less finesse), but its been a lot of fun. Everyong who sees the car loves it, and comments on the color. One lady came into a gas station convenience store and told me "that is the most beautiful car that's ever been in this town" Anyway, its 6:37 AM and I need to get some sleep. More details and hopefully some pics later.

Second night out

I just got back from my second day-night of driving the Z06. 375 miles on it now. I've been trying to keep off the gas, but tonight I was behind some honda or something, and suddenly my passenger pointed out that we were being followed by another C5. It was a convertible....a fact I noticed when he decided to pass both me and the honda, and tear off down the road. Not one to pass up play time, I followed him. We played for a while, and then got on the highway. I ran it up to a slightly ridiculous speed, and pushed past him briefly before putting on the brakes and getting off the highway. My passenger was instructed to wave while passing, but we don't know if he could see us in the dark. Anyway, I was blown away by the power. I didn't even rev the car up much, and it easily shot up to speeds higher than I've ever driven. I still haven't even managed to make the tires squeal around a corner. Absolutely incredible. I know most of you folks here are more than familiar with these cars, but I have to say....going from a hot rodded 71 vette to a 2002 Z06 is a mind blowing change for me. I can't wait to finish breaking it in, and really test it out. I'll be leaving active handling on, and trying to stay alive though. I know this thing can take me far beyond my present abilities.

Now I know I'm going to stop reading this stuff. At 59 I could have a heart atackkkkkkkk just thinking about having to count the weeks and days off untill mine comes in. I grew up building late 50's and 60's muscle cars and running them at local drag strips. Then wife, family and jobs. Now
BACK TO PLAY TIME:-D :-D I will make it, I will make it, I will make it. :guiness: :)
