Going to Bloomington Gold?

At first was undecided, but made the decision to attend Bloomington Gold show this June. We are staying at the Best Western University Inn with other C5 Registry members. How 'bout you?

I'll probably be in Magic's rear view mirror, if its not too hot for my candyass. My parents live just 40 miles from Bloomington.

we'll be there, staying at the Signature Inn on Vetran's Pkwy in Normal. should be a good time...first time I'll participate in a judging event...
will the Z06 forum have a gathering area???

So far I have not heard of any specific Z06 gathering at Bloomington, and since I have not attended Bloomington in a few years, do not know the location/layout enough to suggest a spot...perhaps some one can suggest a convenient loction/day/time?

I went last year and it would be hard to describe a meeting place, However West Coast Corvettes will be there with big yellow truck. It's as good as any for a landmark if you need one.

I wasn't going to go to Bloomington this year, but I recieved a letter last night from a friend of the Forum, describing some of the seminars they will be heading, and I think I am going to have to make it. I especially want to be at the Z06 seminar and meet with Mr. Peacy and Mr. Craighead. If anyone is in the know about the Z06, these guys are.

My parents only live 40 miles from Bloomington, so this will be a good excuse to go up home and visit.

Frank & others:

I am not sure if you need to pre-register for the seminars, but their brochure states that each class is limited by number of students. They request people to register early.

Class #26 is "The C5 Corvette-1997--2001." The instructors are Dave Peacy & Russ Craighead. Cost $50.

Class #34 is "The Extreme Corvette, The Z06-1963 & 2001." The instructors are Bill Nichols & Russ Craighead. Cost $50.

The 29th Annual Bloomington Gold Show will be held June 21-24 at the Interstate Center in Bloomington, Illinois. The mailing address is PO Box 457, Marengo, Il. 60152.

I am especially interested in being at this show because Chevrolet is officially releasing info on the 2002 Corvette on June 20th (just before Bloomington Gold)!

Class #26 is from 3:15-5:15pm on
Thursday, June 21st.

Class #34 is from 6:30-9:30pm on Thursday.

BTW, Bill Nichols is a Vehicle Systems Engineer for Corvette/Camaro/Firebird Platform at GM, and a very knowledgeable corvette restorer and enthusiast!

Mrs Zippy & I plan on helping Ben Labaree at his "Corvettes Conquer Cancer" display in the Route 66 Building Lobby....I plan on wearing my "Zippy" name tag, so stop by and introduce yourself!
