I found a pretty cool way to fight your ticket. I think this offered everywhere in the U.S (you may need to check. Just like the deferred judification, only offered in certain counties). This may take a little time, but most likely you will end up paying nothing and get nothing put on your record either. It worked a 100% with all the people I know so far. First of all, you need to show up in court at your court date. When the Judge ask you "guilty or not guilty", you need to say, not guilty. Then you ask for a "JURY TRIAL". The Judge has to set a date for you. When you show up to the court on your next court date, guess what happen? More likely, there will be no Jury, and the Cop won't be there either.... The results: you get to go without paying anything.
Let put this in perspective a little bit here. How much do you think it will cost to have a jury of 12 people? A lot of $$$.. I don't know the exactly number, but I know it's probably more than your ticket. But, if there jury is there, the cop may not. So, the chance is in your favor. If you are so unlucky that both the jury and the cop are there, then you ask the Judge for a delay. You may get lucky next time...
this process may take up a lot of your time, and it's only worth if you got a ticket in your home town.
Good luck
