Just got my sequence # of 000123 today! Thanks to RAT and Sonny /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif Now, I am wondering how many Vettes are produced each day. I know I've seen this info posted somewhere before, but I can't seem to find it. Can anyone help me with this? I can't believe how low my sequence # is! I am about to explode! /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Jason- Congrats on your seq # also! /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif This waiting is starting to get to me! /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif Seems I remember them saying about 150 cars a day?! I was at the factory in December but cannot remember for the life of me how many cars they pump out in a day /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_frown.gif Maybe someone will help us out /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

How do I go about getting my Seq #? My TPW is 8/06. Thanks
xmuni- I got mine from RAT, who in turn got it from Sonny @ the factory. If your TPW is less than three weeks away and your order status is at 3100, you can get your sequence number. Have a look at the "other" forum under Sequence Numbers for a better explanation. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Normal used to be 150/day with 130 on Fridays. And an occassional Saturday of 130.
Looks like a first day production with 000123!

BOBSZ06- Worker morale should be high on the first day of production for a new model year don't you think? /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif #123.... music to my ears! /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_cool.gif C'mon June 25....

Congrats, guys!! Those are some really low #'s. They usually run between 140 - 160 per day. Expect them to ramp up slowly the first week. I seriously doubt they will be running full production till the return from the shutdown. I also wouldn't expect any to be shipped untill after shutdown. During their vacation, usually around 10 Vettes are extensively road tested for 2 weeks before they are released to the public.

just so i know how this works....
--they start production on 6/25, pushing out ~150/day
--two week shut-down starting 7/2
--plant restart on 7/16

as frank said, units will probably not ship until the plant reopens, correct??

so i could potentially be looking at a delivery in the week of 7/16? or is that too soon??

is the end finally near??? /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

on a side note...
i've got to thank bob benedix @ estes chevy to being on top of the ball and getting my order placed and preferenced soooooo fast /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

bob if you're out there - thanks /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

thanks!

Wait a minute.....I have to ask how you guys are getting your arders placed on 2002's.

I finally decided to throw in the towel on getting a 2001 MY, and just order a 2002. Every dealer I found wanted MSRP for a 2001 MY although they would give a discount on every other color. If I'm going to pay list I might as well order a 2002 for another $1500.

Anyway, my dealer (great guy, bought my Tahoe's and Suburbans from him) called the regional Chevy rep and was told no oders can be placed until the GM satellite controlled order entry system has the Z06 info in it. Presently, the system only has the info in it for coupes and convertibles. The Z06 info isn't supposed to be available until about July 1. My dealer and the Chevy rep. have told me that there is NO WAY to order a Z06 before that time.

HELP!!! Time is passing and I see my order being delayed and others being placed before mine.

HOW CAN MY DEALER PLACE MY ORDER NOW!!!

I just spoke with Judy Yanko at the National Corvette Museum regarding a delivery time on my car. It has a TPW of 06-25-01/ Sequence # 000123. Judy confirmed that my car will come off line on 06-27-01. The first early run of a new model year apparently go down the line a bit slower than normal. Judy is awaiting word back from the factory regarding how the plant shutdown will affect the normal timeline of delivery. It looks like I will be able to take delivery around 08-01. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif Judy said the first museum delivery last year was around 08-03. This waiting is HELL! /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Hey Never.. Your dealer's giving you a runaround. They've been able to enter order requests since about April 12 and these requests have been converting to confirmed orders for the past few weeks. Many of us already have TPWs and sequence numbers. Your dealer can't actually place a real order until they get an allocation for the car. They know how many Corvettes and Z's they will get thru about September, and they have a good idea (based on last year's sales) how many vettes and Z's they'll get for the year.

If you can't get a straight answer from your dealer, start shopping around. Your best bet is with a large dealer, and it need not be a local dealer.

Good luck
