Has anyone seen the "red" version of Halltech's Cobra?? I am conidering the Halltech system and am curious how the red looks compared to the traditional black? Does it match the rail covers?

If you go to Halltech's web site and click on community. Jim has some pics of it there.

I forgot, also when I spoke to Jim he said there going to make matching rail covers too. I have my set reserved as well as a Tric Ti.

Also if you didn't know already the tube is made of titanium.

PA_Z06,

Thanks for the link. I have the TRIC Titanium and Red CF magic on order from Jim as well. Do you have the magic Box as well and have you removed the the screen from you MAF?

Magic box yes.
Screen removal no. I've kinda been putting this off due to the post i've been reading about idle surging after removal of the screen.

Any before and after dyno graphs on the Z06 Tric system? With the ported throttle body, that's a lot of $$ for the system, but the claim of over 20+RWHP additional is enticing. I am planning a major intake mod for my car during the winter, so any objective data would be good.

Just from my observations. I really liked Corvette Concepts air intake design. If I had it to do over again, that would have been my choice. If you guys ever get a chance to take a close look at one, check it out!! This isn't a plug for them, I'm just telling you to check it out. I was VERY impressed.

Damn, I wish I knew about them before I got my Vortexes. I still beleive they all make about the same horsies, but this was a "make sense" set up!! JMHO and passing on the info so you can make a choice.

I recall Corvette Concepts from the C5 Registry. Jake Delaney, a good guy. He does good work.

:Hello the Donaldson will do the same HP gain up to about 80 MPH and a lot cheaper.
DO NOT remove the screen. Mallett and Lingenfelter both agree. Dennis

Screen removal no. I've kinda been putting this off due to the post i've been reading about idle surging after removal of the screen.

I found out to late that the Halltech system renders the retractable air dam useless and when the air dam trys to move it slams into the air filter, creasing it. I expected a better fit. Chris @ Halltech said there is nothing they can do since they have to use all the tubes up before making a better fitting one.

I removed the screen on my stock MAF and didn't have any problems with surging at idle. The GMS MAF that I am running now comes without a screen. Just be sure that you want to remove the screen, because you can't put it back in without buying a new MAF.
