I'm also loking at the Sidewinder. I wouldn't have to cut the shroud if I get it.

I wanted to know if it will make the same amount of HP as the TRIC would.

I'm going to give Jim a call regarding this question, I know he is extremely busy.

In my brief correspondence with Jim Hall, he said the TRIC as currently configured would be worth about 5 h/p less than on the '01. I believe he also said the sidewinder makes a little less h/p than the TRIC

I have sent Halltech the same email 3 times asking them a couple of tech questions and if they have any more red MAGs left. I'm guessing they don't need my business. I sent all of the emails 3 days apart and no response.

I am certain there are no more red carbon fiber MAGs and Chris said it was unlikely they would commission more to be built.

I got #69 of 100 of the Titanium TRICs, and they were going fast, probably gone by now since they are no longer listed on the Halltech web site.

Installed the TRIC/MAG 3 weeks ago. No problems other than getting clearance for the filter under the shroud. Chris implied that the 2001 shrouds are slightly different from previous years so some contact with the leading edge of the filter (the top rubber portion that attaches to the TRIC) is inevitable. I was concerned that during hard driving (NOT track driving as I would never put any portion of my warranty in jeopardy) the MAF might work loose where it attaches to the distal portion of the CF MAG. I can tell you that based on some hard miles (again NOT track miles) that the MAF never budged.

I am quite pleased and convinced that there is a demonstrable improvement in performance. While I can't quantify it, I have anecdotal evidence that gives me confidence that the investment provides a sound return. Besides, it makes that beautiful Titanium exhaust note sound even better.

Have fun and check out the Z06 and C5-R in SONY Playstation 2 Grand Turismo 3.

Concerning the red MAG, I received this email from Jim on the 10th.

They are gone. Sorry. See this link for an explanation:

Paintdog: Apologies are in order if we lost your emails.

I did not repsond to someones email (don't remember the name) who said something like:

I do not want to cut into the shroud (that eliminates the TRIC) and I don't like the looks of the black carbon fiber (that eliminates the SideWinder). Since we only manufacture those two systems, I may have ignored the email to answer the 25 or so we get each day.

Once again, sorry.

We will be anodizing the TRIC Aluminum 6061T6 Tunnel Ram Induction Cold air systems this month. Red ano, Blue and Black will be available.

We can also custom powdercoat with ceramic (high luster aluminized finish) or other custom colors.

The charge will be very reasonable for this service.

Call me toll free: 866-379-8200 and I'll be happy to answer any questions.

Best regards,

Jim Hall
