Halltech Ported Throttle Body Testing
There has been some talk about the ported throttle body and its affect on performance.

It is true that the LS1 sees very little hp with a full ported tb since the intake tract has many other problems including the low lift cam.

When coupled with the high lift .550" Z06 2002 cam, however, there is a fairly substantial 4-5 RWHP gain at redline over stock.

The Halltech MAG (Max Airflow Generator Intake Coupler) has approximately 30% more plenum volume, eliminates the turbulent accordion coupler, has a raised roof and lowered floor to allow airflow to access the throttle body with very little obstruction, and adds as much as 10 RWHP by itself.

We have had calls from customers that have purchased our MAG sans our intake, and coupled with another intake made 10 RWHP over the stock cobra airbridge.

We are dyno testing our T-1 performance package (The T is for temperature control) along with the TRIC, and Titan intakes tomorrow. Results will be posted. Expect the unexpected! We will post the exact results, no matter what. Good, bad, or ugly. I am very confident that we will see fairly large numbers (440 flywheel HP) from one of these packages.

All of the Halltech Ported Throttle Bodies are now CNC ported, with the final finish hand ported with scotchbright tooling. The throttle plate retainers are now CNC machined for an additional few cfm. The final inlet shape will be the same as our fully hand ported units, but will be more consistant, save time, but cost us more. $499.00 Outright pricing. No exchange. We want every throttle body core to be brand new in the GM Delco Box that we send to customers. This will also allow you to retain your stock throttle body for trade in or sale.

Add $100.00 for the show polished exterior

Jim, what does that make the price of the show polished t-body cost? Thanks
The reason for our no exchange policy is as follows:

We cannot send used ported TBs to someone with a new 2002 since they have electronic drive-by-wire controllers. We have no way of making sure the components are good on used TBs. Thus the new policy of no exchange.

All of our TBs are GM fresh packaged in the Delco box.

Not to stir the waters :) but what is better about your ported stock throttle body over the BBK unit other then the higher price?

BBK does not make more HP

Proven on the dyno. It takes a backseat on the dyno to our ported throttle body.

We dynoed the BBK on a stock 2000 C5 with our TRIC and got 322 RWHP. Swapped it out for the stock TB and got 324 RWHP.

Morgan Motorsports dynoed our TB vs BBK and got similar results.

Now, if you port the BBK...........maybe there is something there, but it takes over 1 hour of porting, since it has a nightmare entrance opening out of the box.

So if you start with a 399.00 BBK and port it for $250.00, you get the idea.

If we sell only new TBs, we can warranty them. We used items, there is no telling what your going to get. Sorta like Forrest Gump's chocolate example.

We also have a few secrets built into our porting job. We have seen copies of the Katech, and Lingenfelter porting and ours matches the MAG much better.
