I have a harmonic vibration at 75 to 90. The frequency is about one to one and one half seconds. The car vibrates and stops, vibrates and stops about once each second.

Has anyone else experienced thisproblem? I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to deal with this.

Thanks, Z06Y :)

Have your dealer check the tire/wheel balancing. My dealer has a Hunter balance machine which I understand is 1 of the best. I have also noticed some additional exhaust system vibration that did not exist on my '01 when it had the stock system. I believe the vibration you mention is caused by 1 of the 2 stated above. I THINK? :-? ;) :) FUBU69/LES

Things you can do to check powertrain:

Does going into neutral while it is occurring have any effect? What about a little throttle+brake to hold steady speed during the vibration - does the character change?

It does sound like it might be wheels/tires.

Still Shaking

Did you ever get this fixed ? I seem to have the same problem.
When I put chrome wheels on the car, I had them balanced on a Hunter machine. California roads are so bad I couldn't tell if the problem was solved or not. Last week I drove across Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska and Parts of Kansas and on good roads it's clear I still have the vibration. It is also clear that the problem is in the front end by virtue of the vibration through the steering wheel. Z06Y Ldy

Hi there,
I would also suggest a cracked spring, or a broken sway bar end link.
If you depress the clutch, do you still get the vibration????

It's always positive to get feedback from my favorite Corvette mechanic. To be honest, I'm not generally in the habit of putting the clutch in 80 mph except to shift to second gear. If springs or sway bar links are broken, they have been broken since I picked up the car a year ago. I complained of this vibration on my way home from NCM. I'll take another look. Thx, Z06Y Ldy
