had their low oil level sensor go out? I picked my car up last night from the dealer (was in for a leaky tranny seal). and the low oil level message was on the DIC. Lo and behold it was lo on oil. So I topped it off (I keep a couple quarts in the trunk) and drove home. On the drive home the message on the DIC didnt go away. So I hit the reset button and it went away. About 5 or 10 minutes later it came back on. When I got home I checked my oil and it was full (according to that hokie factory dipstick). What do you guys think? Could the sensor be going out or is there a code to enter to make the message go away?

Zee,

I think from some of the post that I have seen over the past year, what will happen is it will go away after so many restarts. From what I understand is that when this happpens it looks at the computer to see if this signal appears again after so many starts. If signal = no then it will reset itself. If signal = yes it will stay and it will not go away.

Just my .02 worth..

Ernie

what dip stick.....:)
