I lost my first serpentine belt last summer. With the help of Don Benson and Tom Templeman (Backlash) we replaced it on the fly. ( 95 degrees, on the road leaving Corvettes at CARLISLE ) As I went to check the oil last night I noticed that the belt was hanging on by only 4 of the 8 grooves around the tensioner. I was able to push the tensioner in with one hand while pushing the belt back on with the other. It seemed to easy and I think the tensioner is bad... Any thoughts? Thanks Guys......

I had the belt off while installing my headers and there was no way I could move that tensioner by hand. I had to stick my 1/2" drive socket wrench on it and even then, it took a stout pull to move it. It is very stiff. Based on that, it sounds like yours' is too weak!
