MTI did some testing and they found that the smaller header to get better scavenging isn't always the case. They consistently make more HP in H/C cars using the 1 7/8 header over the 1 3/4 header. :guiness:
Im sure I'll get used to 410 rwhp as it sits right now. On top of that the difference in price between the two is only 75 dollars so maybe thats the best choice for me (1 7/8). In the mean time though...will I lose tq by going with the larger diameter?
No...you shouldn't lose any tourqe. The 1 7/8 header test that MTI did showed no loss in tourqe. I wouldn't put any header on a modified heads or cam car but 1 7/8 headers. In fact...that's pretty much all that MTI installs now. :cheers:
