Here's a good link to view an aftermarket LT header using an oval gasket (second row of the entire series, far right pic)
http://www.tonyscorvetteshop.com/Z06-Exhaust_files/index.htm#
Notice the amount of material showing on the headers? Its the size of a NASCAR restricter plate /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif
I also wonder too how the headers/seal will hold up over time... you are blasting heat at the exposed area and would think thats not good for the header or gasket. Take for example of people on the other forum posting on brand x header and how they are needing rewelds over time.
Forget Borlas or Corsas $2000 Ti headers when we already have Ti headers and probably, for the best, overbuilt to withstand time. Someone make a quality LT header and watch the people line up. With 6000+ Z06s built this year and at least that much next year, there has to be a company willing to market the ONLY Z06 matched header out there.
DRM? Katech? Someone step up to the plate!

I thought that there was a D shaped gasket for the aftermarket headers, or at least they used the stock gasket.
Anyways, a properly made header with D shaped exhaust ports should make more efficient HP.
I'm going to check if any of the manufacturers are working on one.
By the way, good topic. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif
