Wondering if anyone has any idea if any company will make headers specifically made to match the LS6 D-shaped port.

I know people have success using the headers designed for the LS1 coupe and verts but I would have to feel there is a few more ponies to be had by using port matched headers. also the gasket and heating around the area also conerns me because it is not matched.

I thought that there was a D shaped gasket for the aftermarket headers, or at least they used the stock gasket.

Anyways, a properly made header with D shaped exhaust ports should make more efficient HP.

I'm going to check if any of the manufacturers are working on one.

By the way, good topic. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Here's a good link to view an aftermarket LT header using an oval gasket (second row of the entire series, far right pic)

http://www.tonyscorvetteshop.com/Z06-Exhaust_files/index.htm#

Notice the amount of material showing on the headers? Its the size of a NASCAR restricter plate /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I also wonder too how the headers/seal will hold up over time... you are blasting heat at the exposed area and would think thats not good for the header or gasket. Take for example of people on the other forum posting on brand x header and how they are needing rewelds over time.

Forget Borlas or Corsas $2000 Ti headers when we already have Ti headers and probably, for the best, overbuilt to withstand time. Someone make a quality LT header and watch the people line up. With 6000+ Z06s built this year and at least that much next year, there has to be a company willing to market the ONLY Z06 matched header out there.

DRM? Katech? Someone step up to the plate!

Ti headers /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_eek.gif

We don't have any titanium headers, at least not stock. The mufflers and exhaust tips are made of titanium.

Anyways, good link. Those were a nice set of headers/

Sorry, I got so excited I was talking about Corsa's and Borlas new Ti exhaust systems coming out... not headers /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

But Like I said, we don't need them. We need a Ti Headers! /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

If any are into Superbikes, aftermarkets have offered Ti headers for Superbikes for YEARS! I remember when I had my Ninja, Muzzy was the first to come out with a set for Kawasaki... ARTWORK they were!

The chances of a company coming out with Ti headers are probably slim to none... so I'll just ask for Z06 SPECIFIC headers please in SS... Ti preferred /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Chech the "exit28motorsports" as they were showing that TTS had a header for the LS6 and another for the LS1. I think that the TPIS is that way also?? Check it out or call them.
