Help - Bought Used V1 from Ebay Does it Need Upgrade?

I got a used (1 year old)V1 with Laser and all of the stuff with it except the hidden display.

Question: If it is one year old does it need the Ka band enhancement upgrade and if does how much do they charge and will they do it in a reasonable timeframe? I thought I was getting the latest but realized I didn't. I may not get much Ka around here in AL. Their website at valentineone.com was no help at all. Just said no parts and therefore no upgrades.

No. Mine is 3 years old and I called them just last week and they said that mine was up to date.

I have a question - why in gods name would someone sell a V1?

There is nothing better, and as long as I have a car and drive fast, i will need one.

Her name is Missy and she said said she is a college student at USC and she spent $1500 more at Cancun than she should have so she needed to liquidate some assets. Apparently Missy has a heavy foot and her relative who may have been the one paying the fines said she needed a V1. And that's the rest of the story.......... BTW there are currently 11 other V1 units for sale on ebay starting at $200 bid.
