Here in Chicago NBC Channel 5 is doing a little segment on Corvette's during THIS Sunday's News Broadcast, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM... now they have picked about 25 people to interview over a 22 minute period for the segment on Corvette's etc... Due to my racing the ZO6 and the times that I run etc, they tracked me down through other people that I know, at 1st I was not going but they really wanted me to come to be interviewed... as soon as I realized that this was not going to be some "park the car's and the weather man is going to say "sunny ahd 80" in front of them" I wanted to go... but that same day is my 1 year wedding date... but the Wife understands and I get to go to be interviewed by NBC about racing a ZO6 (kinda cool)...

It is a 2 hour show and 22 minutes of it is set aside for the Corvette's

but KINDA LAME if I have to go down there and say "well, it is in for warrenty repair!"

I talked to my dealership to explain the situation to them, you figure they would make sure a ZO6 was there for me to stand in front of... NA... I want to get ahold of the District person but do not know how to contact them... I mean, it is REALLY to their advantage to make sure that I'm there to talk about the ZO6... (At least I think so)

and JC - Don't you worry my man, if they ask me where someone would be able to find more information on a Z06... This place will be the 1st thing out of my mouth (The check is in the mail Right JC? /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif hehe)

Ya - I sure do need a banner... and yes, I will MPEG what the VCR records... and post it, so you can see how much of a fool I was (Never been on TV, not to mention LIVE TV)

I can see it now... (What we think they are doing is leading up through the Vette years, and ending with me, racing, and the "Ultimate" Corvette to date...)

And now they want me to bring my Camera that has the tape of me at road america (They watched the MPEG)... so we get to take a vote.. What do we want to see the Z06 blow away?

Race prepped 930 or 911 cant tell in tape Turbo Porsche (My favorite) PLUS it always looks better on tape to pass a car that is all decked out like a race car.

I would be more than happy to put a banner on the car. However, as it stands right now, NO CAR (kinda a problem) Yes if there is someone else in the Chicagoland area, that would let me talk about "his" car like it was "my" car... that would be great... They are also going to show a small clip (about 10 seconds I'm asuming) of me on the track... so if it is a Yellow car, Bonus (Just because the tape of me is in my yellow Z (go figure)) you can't really tell on the tape, but still.

my other option is a Chevy person that I know, he might be able to either get me a car, or get a car down there for me to stand by... but I would only assume that if he did, the windshield banner would have his dealership on it...

However (thinking hurts) I could put the Z06VETTE.com banner on the BACK window, and walk around to the back to point out the titanium situation as a example of what seperates the Z06 from the C5... (damn, sometimes I scare myself)

Bottom line, I'm doing everything I can to get a car down there for me to stand next to / talk about... Can you get me a banner NDA?

Update to Car…

Spark Plug wires where melted / bad.

Cylinder 1-3 where out
Cylinder 6-7 where out and full of fuel (ouch)

Bottom line, Melted some lines on the Fuel Rail

Car is DONE - Will have it for this Sunday Whoo hooo…

yes - I have the banner... Hope to get it on the car, have you put these on the car yet? I know it is a "trial" banner, but I have not seen a windshield banner that is a big rectangle... im worried that it will look bad because it will not "follow" the top of the windshield, for it can not bend... and I can't cut it because the background is all yellow... I will figure something sweet out, and post a picture tonight if I get a chance...
