At 1:30pm PDT I was roaring North up Hwy. 167 (South of Seattle) at a velocity befitting of the Z06's intended mission, and a radio on/off button-sized boulder was hurled into the Shark's windscreen at near rifle velocity. CRACK! ...a perfect star approx. 1.25" in dia. on the passenger's side appeared. Called the insurance co. from the car, got approval, and had it fixed at Novus.... total time from crack to fix: 59 min.

BUT... I foundout... I hope you are all seated... the O.E.M. Z06 windshield is: $1884.49 ...and the O.E.M. BACK WINDOW on the Z06 is: $1939.80

GET INSURANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Windshield Insurance: Break one and it will be the best money you ever spent. Been there done that and got the tee shirt. They are shaved and thinner after all......

I've heard about this windshield insurance....anybody know if aaa offers it? I didn't see it under options (but they did have electronic coverage).

Sorry to hear that...glad no one was hurt, or that you lost control of the car after impact! I used to ride motorcycles, and flying junk was one of my biggest worries!

I'm going to check with my insurance for "windshield insurance" coverage! Thanks for sharing this tip!

Just my crack fixed a couple of weeks ago; Nationwide took care of it and the repair worked well. My comp. is $500 ded. so if I need a new one some day, I will be out that amount.
