How do I post a public event on the calendar?

Moderators,

How do you post a public event on the calendar? The only I option I seem to have is for posting private events.

There are 2 buttons at the bottom of the calender. One says, "Public Event" and the other says, "Private Event".

actually...i only show the "Private" option too.
