Yesterday, I told you guys it took 6.5 quarts to the full line. Well, in thinking about the process, I neglected to start the motor, get the oil moving and then let the oil settle before I checked it. (I do prefill the oil filter) Low and behold, I let the car set for 1/2 hour today when I got home and sure enough, it took another 1/2 quart.

For all you oil fill anal retentives :lol: IT TOOK 7 QUARTS!!!! :cheers:

I have changed my oil 3 times now and it requires without fail all 7 qts to get it to the full mark on the dipstick.

I put 7 in when I change and indicates full after a wait period..

Maybe there's a design flaw with the dip-stick (after redesign in 2001) that GM wont admit... so they're sticking with 6.5 Quarts!

I always put in 8 quarts... Seems that one quart goes immediately to the universe, somewhere! :lol: :lol: :lol:
