Hi folks,

last DE, I put on new Carbotech XP9's and raybestos rotors.

afterward, I put my raybestos ceramics back one for the street.

now, I am going to VIR for a July 4 DE. when I put my now slightly used race pads back on, do I need to re-bed them before going to the track(I will not be changing out the rotors since they only have 1 event on them)?

thanks!!

Re-Bed Carbotech Track Pads

I use Carbotechs, XP9 front and XP8 rear for DE days. I don't re-bed them when switching from street (stock) pads to the Carbotechs but I do follow Carbotech's recommendation about only braking to about 70% effort (I think) for the first few laps. In addition to bringing the rotors up to operating temperature, I guess this helps to scrub off any residue from the street pads and lay down a micro layer of the Carbotech pad material on the rotors.
