I've never had any of my cars on a dyno, what a blast!! /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif Run the Z in 4th gear all the way to the rev limiter. Man, was it ever loud!! Watched the speedo go all the way to 140 MPH. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_eek.gif

My only mods are the cold air intake and the PRT's.

Max. HP 355.3 @ 5800 RPMs
Max. Torq. 369.9 @ 4550 RPMs

Now don't start asking me about correction factors, because I haven't a clue waht a correction factor is. I'm happy with the #'s. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I did take a video of the dyno, so I will post it as soon as I get home.

Frank, I assume you had it done on Breathless Performance's dyno. Compare with my Breathless #s below in my signiture. Your car looks like a strong one. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif Did you see any other Z06's dyno and get there #s?

Ron,

Yes it was done on the Breathless Dyno. Tomorrow morning, I am going with FUBU to videotape his Z on the dyno. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Good numbers. I just got my car dynoed at Breathless a couple of weeks ago.

Hey Frank, dyno'ing the car for the first time and after the first run, didn't it freak you out to see virtually every warning message come up on the gages?

But it was exciting hearing the car goto redline in 4th gear. It was like you were just in a race but you were standing still the whole time.

My best was using a Mustang Dyno:
Max Power: 332.2 @ 5800 rpm
Max Torque: 336.4 @ 4550 rpm

Totally stock Z06 with 2000 miles on the odometer.

Let's compile the numbers and put them on an excel sheet so we can compare how some mods effect the torque and hp curves.

If you take a look at this thread you will see I have been doing just that since early last Sept.

These are real #s done on a DynoJet with the Win Pep program that takes the correction factors out of the operaters hands, it is a Windows program that with the sensors reads all of the conditions at the time of the run from temp., humidity, height, etc.
MUSTANG DYNOS SUCK.
With Ram Air, TTS Headers, Bassani X Pipe, Corsa Indys, and MTI Underdrive pulley I am getting 355 rwhp, on Ernies dyno I would probably get 370.
If you people want to believe the #s you are getting from the breathless dyno so be it.
To find a DynoJET in your area follow this link and get the real #s, unless you are comfortable living a lie and at that point you might just as well put a rolled up sock in your pants to impress the ladies and that is what a Breathless dyno run is a rolled up sock. Subtract 2.5 - 3% from the Mustang and you will have closer #s.

Fubu turned a 360 RWHP today and 372 RWTQ with Vortex and Corsa Indys.

We say a Red Z with long tube headers and Vortex intake, with stock mufflers turn 346 RWHP and 361 RWTQ. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Tom, the Vortex is sold by Breathless. I bought mine last year.

Going to the dyno wasn't about the #'s. FUBU and I just did it for fun. It's pretty exhilerating with all the noise of the PRTs blasting, the engine screaming, and watching the speedo climb all the way to 140 MPH /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_eek.gif sitting still. It was the first time for both of us and it was a blast.

Frank I am glad you guys are having a good time and you know I wish I was there.
I apoligize for blasting yours and everyone elses dyno #s.
I know Breathless sells the Vortex that was my point.
Ernie will sell you a throttle body and show you the gains on his dyno, go ask him. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif
Don't you even question the torque #s being so much higher than the hp?

The cool thing about this would be that, regardless of what you think of the Mustang dynos, is that there are people all over the country that have dynoed their cars on Breathless's dyno, especially this weekend at BG, and it would be nice to see the different curves with different mods on the same dyno.

Dyno numbers will vary from shop to shop and make to make... its not the numbers that really matter, its how you use the data.

RippiedZ06, FCalmes, BradsC5 and a few others from both forums have had their cars dynoed on Breathless' Mustang and I'm just curious how there curves differ on the same dyno and share the info.

I don't even care what dyno you dynoed your car on, if you want to scan me the data and email it to me, I'd like to have it.

<I agree and have said as much on this thread.>

<Your stock #s Don are the only ones I have seen that are correct.>

<That would be a good idea if you can get them to stop playing with the data they enter.>

My HP Scanner took a crap but I did scan this one from last Thursday at my girlfriends. If you want I am sending my dyno files to Hib Halverson for review and would be happy to send a copy to you also.
You can download a viewer from the DynoJet home page.

Why am I so skeptical of dyno sheets from tuners. It happened to me 405.7 rwhp, look at the correction factor 1.04 /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_confused.gif

When I took the car to another dyno that let me watch what he was doing with the computer 385 rwhp.
This is the last I have to say on this subject all I was trying to do is give you the facts.
But if you think that a Z06 can get 360 RWHP and 372 RWTQ with Vortex and Corsa Indys.
I have a bridge for sale in NY.

Forum Members-
I've read this thread with interest.

I should note that, in spite of some claiming not to be concerned with correction factors, they are very important when comparing power and torque numbers from different cars taken with different dynos. The most accepted (and most realistic) factor is "SAE Corrected".

For those interested in understanding more about chassis dyno testing in general and the DynoJet 248H in particular ought to look at http://www.idavette.net/hib/dynojet/index.htm
