Just got pulled over by the Pennsylvania State Police in one of their Maximum Enforcement Programs (similar to a DUI Checkpoint or an Inspection Sticker Check) for the Easter Holiday. They were checking for seat belts and kid restraints. I told him I was on my way to the hospital to help perform Open Heart Surgery (which I was)! He said it didn't matter and that I should fasten my seat belt and that I should know better. He asked for my Registration, License and Insurance Card; came back 2 minutes later with a citation for not wearing my seat belt. I asked him why he thought I wasn't wearing my seat belt and what caused him to believe I wasn't. He said he could see the "Fasten Seat Belt" sign on my dash illuminated. "WOW" I said, "You've got great eyesight!" "By the way, You are correct in that the ""Fasten Seat Belt"" light does illuminate when I am not wearing the factory belts; however did you happen to also notice these RED, 3 INCH, SIMPSON, 6 POINT HARNESS BELTS WITH CAM LOCK RELEASE THAT I AM WEARING?????!!!!!" His jaw dropped, he turned white, then red (to match the belts) and said "Oh?" He walked back to his car and came back with a "Congratulatory Appreciation" for being a safe driver. I said "Gee Thanks but you've delayed me 5 minutes from Emergency Surgery for this?" He said he could offer me an escort. I said "No Thanks, you probably won't be able to keep up!" "Why don't you stick this where your six point binds you!" "Bye!"
