If you would rather the 2006 ZO6 to have no more than a $10k premium over the base C6 coupe,
PLEASE help by contacting GM and let them know how you feel
at the following address:

www.chevrolet.com/contactus/emailus/index.jsp

You can do so at the following address:

www.chevrolet.com/contactus/emailus/index.jsp

You can check the following and fill in the blanks to tell them how you feel:

X I am considering the purchase of a vehicle and have a product, promotion, or incentive question.

I posted the following message personally.
Feel free to copy and paste it when you post.

In order for me to purchase the 2006 ZO6,
the following criteria needs to be met:

1) price to have no more than a $10k premium over a similarly optioned base C6 coupe
2) targa top option (no charge)
3) black headlight surrounds (at least as an option)

If the new ZO6 does not offer the above,
I will have no choice but to purchase __________.

My name
My phone #'s.

Below you will find more info from another thread calling for the black headlight surrounds

To whom it may concern at GM.

PLEASE revise the C6 to have black headlight assemblies like the C6 mules that we have seen.

AT LEAST, please allow those who order their cars to have the option of black headlight assemblies.

To forum members,
Please take a look at other modern sports cars with exposed headlights.
I hope that you will agree with me when I say that black; or headlight assemblies that contrast the body color, are much more visually appealing.

Please take the time to vote and show your support for those that,
AT LEAST, would like the option of black headlight assemblies.

Thank you.

Sorry man, but this sounds crazy to me. Even at $75k, this car will be a bargain, the Z will be outperforming some $120-150k sports cars.

Remember that all of this increased peformance isn't free, there's a cost associated with it.

I would rather the Z06 not have more than a $10K premium over the base C6.

I would also like the Z06 to use the same basic steel frame, the same fenders, the same fascia, the same tires, the same brakes... to not have a dry sump, to not be a 427, to not have titanium internals, to not rev to 7000 RPMs, and last but not least... to not have 500 HP either.

Wait a minute............. no I wouldn't.

Was the ZR1 price a winner or loser strategy for Chevy? I have always heard that it did not pay off to have excessively priced cars.

No, the ZR1 priced itself out of the ballpark, IIRC. I dont think GM will make the same mistake.

Jeez, at $55k I'd even be thinking seriously about it. $75k is simply out of my ballpark without donating a kidney or something.

I just want the option of buying a lower priced, decontented, club sport version. I think those who buy a fully optioned, grand touring version of this car are going to have to pay the freight. Frankly, GM is hurting financially and I want it to make some money. If they'd just call and hire me at an executive level, I'd help them do it. ;)

I am sure they'll be price sensitive, as they do not want the cars piling up in new car lots.

ya $55k would be great, but its not gonna happen. they didnt just make the price $75k just because its the new Z06. look at all theyve done to it. the entire car is set apart form a normal C6. its about time they made this big a difference between the two. you want a Z you're gonna have to pay for it, if not then dont complain bout the price, buy a C6 and mod it to hell. it may not be as good as a Z in the end but hey you get what you pay for. im not rich but i do accept the $75k price tag and i hope to get one in '07 once some likely bugs are worked out.

You don't sell 10,000 cars a year at $75,000 + TTL + each.

GM either wants to sell 10,000 cars a year, or they don't.

Period.

A $75k pricetag will leave me with $30k to mod a USED C6.

NO NEW SALE FOR YOU GM !!

With $30k, I will do more than keep up with the new ZO6.
In fact,my car will "suck the doors off of it" as Bob Lutz likes to say.

My car will do this,
with A REMOVABLE TOP!!!!

Are you listening GM?

Sure, they could make ya a $55k Z06, but it would be absolutely nothing special. Carbon fiber panels? Nope. Alum. fram? Nope. 427 dry sump pumping out 500hp? Yeah right keep dreaming! A 55k Z06 would be the body additions/changes, interior changes, a slightly hopped up LS2, and slightly better suspension.

Be careful for what you ask for!

Jeez...not another one.

Come on... a fully optioned C6 (MSRP) is around $55K-60K. A $65K-75K price is a VERY good guestimate and well worth it IMO. Like stated a million times...look at the technology in this car compared to others!

Cars go up in cost just like everything else too (see: inflation).

I think a lot of people have a good point about modding a C5 Z06, making it faster than the C6 Z06, and still coming in under budget, especially if we're looking at a $75,000 price tag. If that's the case, then I'd probably go that route.

Of course, everyone has their own idea of what something's true value is. The stats on the C6 Z06 are nothing short of amazing. IMHO, if it wasn't for the uninspiring design of the C6, I don't think we'd be having this discussion. I wish that part of it didn't matter so much, but it does. Final price . . . $64,245.99

I agree, price will most likely be around 60k..that 15k over c6 and thats about right....

All those ppl that want to pay 75k, go ahead, but i prefer it at around 60k...its not worth more than that to me!

You gotta be kidding, right??

I'm not sure you really have a clue as to what the costs involved are in changing to a forged 427 engine, tranny/diff coolers, dry sump, aluminum frame, carbon fiber panels, etc.

If this car is available off the showroom floor for $64k or less it's gonna be a steal. I don't see how threatening GM with buying someone else's car if they don't come in at/under $55k is going to help at all. The car is close to production and I'm certain that GM already knows quite well what their MSRP is gonna be. I can't even imagine that they are gonna lower the price to $5.5k because a few folks threatened to buy a different car.

A waste of time and energy me thinks........

I have to go with Mike on this one... They will sell them. Just in case -- I wouldn't mind having a SSR for about 23,000 do you think if we complain enough they will give me that price? If not I will buy another Jeep Wrangler!!!

$75k or less - I'm definitely in for that with what we
would be getting. In fact, I already have it in the bank.

Over that? Will probably consider something else, like a Viper.

While you're at it, buy a Pinto, build a motor, and cut the roof off.

Voila! Instant 700 HP car with the top down.

I keep coming back to how many GM intends to sell.

If they want to sell a lot, they will need a low price - if they only care to sell a few, they can make the price what ever they want.
