John, I hear you on the car being parked since Nov, mine has been asleep since 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. I am hoping the for nice weather by the time I get back from Hawaii in a few weeks.

One more thing, I will be getting ripped within the hour and it has nothing to do with a shifter.

LOLOL!!! I, too, plan on installing my shifter this weekend, and expected to read lots of good advice on the install... Instead, I'm now yearning for a cold one!

Anyone have any shiter install tips ALONG with the drinking tips?

Hey Carl -- since you seem to be following this thread, thought maybe I could track down an answer from you here... Is your Kirban bolted-on lever attached to the LEFT or RIGHT hand side of the shifter base's lever? (The directions don't make it clear... I figure I'd want it closer to the driver, reather than further away... Thoughts?)

I just got my new ripper shifter, and plan to install it tommorow. I also bought a momo cobra knob. I have read several threads here about noise that may be associated with the ripper. I am looking for any advice you guys can give me on performing this installation properly.
So far I have printed out Mike Schriber's tech tip from the CF tip page.
Oh by the way my wife wants to know whats wrong with the shifter that came on my new car. I told her all the guys have new ones.
PS my car hasn't burned a drop of oil since I parked it in the garage in November

Thanks in advance.
John
