Just closed my deal on a Blk Blk/red Z06!!! Will pick up the car Friday! Drove it last nite, it seemed so much lighter "on its feet" and responsive, too! A couple questions- will the vortex rammer airbox from my '99 coupe (which is now for sale) fit the Z06, or do I have to update?I've read some Z06 people feel that all is needed is a k&N filter, the box is now good enough from the factory. Any opinions with this?

You might follow up with the K&N only folks...they are likely referring to a cone filter and not a flat filter that goes in the stock box.

The MAF on the 2001 models are larger than previous models so your Vortex filter will not fit it.

I ordered a new larger filter, opened up the hole in the Vortex box a little and resinstalled the one I had on my 2000 FRC. Works great.

Thanks everyone for the words, I canhardly wait until friday to pick the car up!! I had another question about a divider from the trunk area to the passenger area-Has anyone bought or made one? I've seen some discussion on them, seems like that would help cut down on tire noise and help the stereo. Is it worth the effort? I think it would be a good thing, and pop it out when going to the track!!
