wow...what a difference over the stock unit.

not sure why i waited so long to do this??? it's a little stiff now, but i'm assuming that it will loosen up a bit as time goes by.

so...anyone out there on the fence on a shifter, get one. :)

also, thanks shawn (LAPD) for such great service. ;)

Congrats!! I picked one up from LAPD about 5-6 weeks ago. It was real stiff at first.

Drove a few miles today. It is definitely loosened up a bit. Or I am just used to it now? I love it!! There's just no comparison w/ the shitty stock shifter.

Enjoy. :D

Jason,
Did you install the ripper yourself? Was it difficult? Did you replace the knob also?

The shifter is one of the first mods I have planned.

I don't have one on my FRC yet... It will be the mod I put on after Christmas, right after I put on the cold air induction system. I was able to drive Franks Silver Bullit! And I can't tell you how much more definitive the Ripper shift is over the stock shift.

How long did it take to install ? How long do you think it would take a novice like me to install ?

actually vince, it was a VERY easy install. basically remove the dash around the shifter, remove the shifter, install new shifter, and re-install dash.

it should be fairly straight forward for anyone. :)
