I don't have this problem, but.... I let the car warm up to 100 degrees (coolant temp) before I even move it. Then I don't take it past 3000 rpm until the oil temp comes up. I've known people with LS1's that have beaten on them cold, and ended up sacrificing their cars to the piston gods!

Speed, guess I'm not used to having to warm up a car before moving it. Never had to do that with my big block 396 in my Chevelle SS.
Humm, well it doesn't sound too bad, I just baby it til it is warm. Only have 330 miles on it and all very easy goin miles at that. Appears from the posts in CF that it does occur frequently...try it and see if you hear it on yours.

Symptom: Cold engine only, and under load while accelerating at 2000+ rpm. Almost sounds like a diesel! Definite knocking going on. After warm no knock.
Also does not do this at idle or at rpms when not under load.
The service manual, Vol. 2 pg. 6-16 states:
Engine Noise Under Load
A cold piston knock which disappears in 1.5 minutes should be considered acceptable.
Appears this is normal. Everyone else have this noise?

Yep, using the right gas...its not the pinging from detonation. Definite knock. although I didn't even notice it this AM? Maybe I'll put the pistol back in the holster for now.

Looking to purchase a second set of wheels so I can swap out street vs AutoX tires, but I'm uncertain how the clearance / fitment will work with C6 Z06 brake assembly. Can I still run C5 Z06 OEM? Do I move to C6 Z06 OEM? Other?

Looking at a set of new lug nuts, but the seller asked me what the "thread pitch" is (i.e, 1.25" or 1.5"). I have no idea what this is. Do any of you know what the thread pitch is for our lug nuts?

While at the track (first outing in 2019), my brake pedal began to go deeper in the stroke and approached the firewall. I’ve done the obligatory flush (5 liters of DOT4 using GM Tech2) which allowed me to complete one day of a two day autocross. I have replaced master cylinder TWICE with no...
