I had a buddy who own a Supra TT and said that the people at the Supra forum really respected the Z06. I think the word is getting around. Pretty soon, we will hear these respectful comments in all the forums (911, Viper, etc.).
I really like the GN's but roads come in more than 1/4 mile straight line increments.
Out on the hwy I beleive the Z06 remains supreme to almost anything on the road in the US (in Europe we could have our work cut out for us). Most GN, Camaro, Stang etc. guys mod their cars for 1/4 mile runs, but how practicle is that in the real world. You can make a shoebox run like crazy in a 1/4 mile if you put steep enough gears in it. Most races I encounter are running down the freeway... I love 3rd gear in the Z06! Just my $.02. Sorry, I'm rambling... I haven't had my coffee yet.
I had 3 Buick GN's. A 1986, and then His & Hers in 1987. At the time I loved the acceleration of the car, and the "bad to the bone" image...BUT, if you got on it on a curve with any bumps or road irregularities, look out! The car was a handful to hold steady, and it actually scared me couple of times.
Anyway, that was 1987, and it was a "cool" car then. Today cool= Z06!
I thought most of the people were B) about it. The Z06 is the "bad" car of the new millenium, just like the GN was in 87. No matter what you were driving in 87, other than a GN, you were scared when one of those things pulled up next to you. The Black only color scheme just added to it's sinister look. I never understood how GM could allow Buick to build a car faster than their flagship car -the Vette.
Let's not turn this into a Buick bashing post . It's nice to know those guys have respect for our cars just like I/we do/should for theirs. It's all about loving cars. SOme people just love other ones. Think of it this way, let's just say, theoretically speeaking of course /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif, that I love Amstel and you love Bud. We both love beer, but I would never bash yours. So the moral is...Can't we all just get along?!?!
