I currently own a C7 Z06 and am not looking for additional power! My question is about my wife's 2002 "standard" Vette with 2:73 (I believe) gears and an automatic. I've read that there are "kits" out there, head and cam etc. that add a significant amount of power to a stock LS1. Has anyone out there had experience with a combo that works well with an automatic and maintains good drivability?Or maybe swapped in an LS3?

I'm not up on current supercharger applications anymore but that might be a fairly simple application for more power. The Magnachargers needed a taller hood but as I recall the Edelbrock unit would fit under the factory hood.

Just a consideration.

Head, cam, headers. cold air intake can get you about 100HP with no problem. You will have to add a stall torque converter to keep your car from stalling when coming to a stop with that set-up. Easier scenario, buy her a C7 with the LT1!

An LS3 would require a new PCM. You can add a head/cam package and pick up some power but will cause stall problems with the stock converter. Either way, it will cost you some money. Why not but her a C7 Stingray with a LT1 460 HP!
