I read on another forum that the LS6 block is used for the new LS1 engine....is this true?
The can of worms is open for business:lol:Keystone said:It makes sense for GM to make only one block. The differences are slight and the LS6 blocks probably cost the same to make as the LS1's. Why have two styles of blocks clogging up the parts inventory.
Now we are feeling the pain of the L88 owners of yesterday, where the L88 bubble hood was popping up on Vettes all over town. I'm sure transplanted Hemi's, Ram Air engines, 427 tri-carb engines, etc. were nettlesome to the "orignal" owners of supercars back in the 1960's. This is an age-old problem.VettTheRipper said:
I remember it wasn't long ago when some ZO6'ers were concerned about the ZO6 parts being bled over to the upcoming C6 and I believe the GM statement was "no way". The ZO6 parts would be exclusive to that model. I don't know about you folks, but I'd be somewhat disappointed if GM started putting ZO6 parts on C5's. I don't want to sound like an elitist but what's the point of creating a "special Vette" if a few simple bolt-ons on a different model could mimick the original.
Thats not can of worms I was referring to:cheers:fyrcaptain said:I wish these "new" can of worms on an old subject would get thrown out with the trash
