Spoke to my local chevy dealer regarding the mag oil plug that everyone recommends, and he said that it already comes standard in the z06.. he even repeated the gm id # for the plug!!

PS i spent the dough on another oil filter.

E-Z enough to verify: Next oil change try a known magnetic item such as a nut or bolt and see if it sticks to your "magnetic" drain plug. If not, buy GM part # 24100042.

My build date is 10-10 and it did not have a magnetic plug.

I just changed my oil for the first time this weekend and installed a magnetic drain plug. Mine did not come with one and it's a JAN 01 build date.
