The Z06 beat both the Boxster S and the new M3 in every event, except coming in tied for the the slalom course with the M3. MT still chose the M3 over the Z06!!!

What a joke! Apparently, the reason it won was because it was a four seater and cost under $50K, which is a total joke since the dealers here in Los Angeles are asking $65K for them.

BMW is calling back some 23,000 of their cars ranging from the 3,5,7 to the X series because they have the potential to catch on fire from one of the faulty sensor. That's pretty scary. I rather burn a little oil than burn the whole car any day. Talking about burning oil, go read the M5's forum. BTW, my Z doesn't burn a drop.
I had noticed awhile back that many of the car magazines are very bias toward BMW.

Don't worry about it, we know that nothing on the market can beat the Z.....

I watched it last night -absolutely no logic? Even though the ZO6 won in 4 out of 5 categories and tied the BMW in the 5th they chose the BMW becuase it fits 4 people -
Yeh GM probably didn't lend them enough cars to beat on. What I liked was the 0-100-0 The ZZZZ killed the Bimmer and the Porsche. Did anyone happen to notice the photographer lying on the ground at the end of the slalom test -Big Kahoonies EH!

Just watched Motor Trend "Performance Wars 2001".
I would think the car that WON all but one of the contests (and that was a 1st place tie), would be the runaway winner!!!!

But, Oooooohh Nooooo, not when it comes to Motor Trend.
What a joke.

I hope we send Motor Trend our thoughts via E-mail or snail mail on this subject. I'm a subscriber and am still waiting for my copy in the mail. Will be giving them my response just as soon as I can read the story. I too have noticed over the years that they seem overly biased toward BMW.

Remember that most magazines make their money off of ADS! Another thing to take into consideration is that Motor Trend, Car and Driver, Road & Track, etc. are all trying to push BMW, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, etc. because they get FREE trips to Europe to test drive the cars......would you rather go to Detroit or the Autobahn??

During a test of ten sports cars. GM sent a Z06 by freighter all the way to the Porsche testing grounds: either C & D, MT, or R & T, one of these magazines did the ten car shoot-out.

And you know what, te Z06 still kicked ASS, GM was the only company that had to go through the trouble of sending a car overseas, the Firebird was from a lcal Chevrolet dealership. The 2 Ferrari's, 360 and 550; both of the Porsche's, Boxster S and 911 Turbo, and the both of he BMW's, Z3 and Z8; all of these cars were from Europe. They didn't have to send anything overseas, just the faces of shame that these four manufacturers sent to the U.S., along with the laugher that was heard worldwide when the magazine hit the newstands.
