The above link has 2 mpeg's of me in my ZO6.

The Road America MPEG is a 2 minute 42 second lap in a stock ZO6, it is a empty run... only came across one Cobra Mustang which got out of the way fast (which I thank him for it was a good lap which could have been a slow lap in a hurry.)

The tape looks a little funny because it was recorded in 16X9 for my TV @ home... but the computer formated it back to 4X3 ratio, so everything looks "tall"..

I have e-mailed [email protected] so they might be in the media section soon as well... let me know what you think.. I have lots of tape that I can port to MPEG... but don't know if people will even want to see them.

VERY cool.. What CODEC did you use for those? When I'm doing DV and output to MPEG, I always get a 70-80 meg file for something with that resolution and duration..

VERY nice, again, tho!!!

Really? because it took like 6 hours to get them to what you have... I tried about everything that Adobe Priemere LE (free with my Viao laptop) had to offer.. but I "Think" it was Microsoft MPEG V2 with the "slidebar" over to "crisp" not "smooth"... I'm a computer geek for lack of better terms and refuse to read instructions.. so I must have tried about 30 diffrent situations, everything from 300 megs to 4 megs.. this seemed to be a good balance... The sound is also 8 bit Mono (as bad as it gets) but I did not figure anyone would be playing them through the 7.1 home surround /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Mike, I'm downloading it now. If you had a 2.42 you should update the drivingevents.com time for RA. That is one bad ass lap:)

I'm looking at doing the BMW 3 day event at RA in Oct along with Jason Berkeley. Are you doing that one?

Just watched it.....DAMN!!! You went quite a bit slower when I rode with you. I'm not complaining as I was a bit hung-over.

You were cooking on that lap for sure. If you have any other videos, I for one would love to see them.

Just watched the autoX video. Another good run. That looked like a fun coarse, unlike some that look like a scale map of an elephants intestines /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Do you have ANY video of you doing a bad lap?

I've taken a look at these videos and conclude that these are the best quality lap vids we've seen yet....

We are in the process of "fixing" the videos, correcting the aspect ratio, color correcting and generally giving it the film treatment. I don't normally take the time to process videos in this way, but Nelson has captured some excellent quality here...

Nelson, I'll email you!

I liked the autox video you have there. Especially where you hit the rev limiter /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif
Ya, the rev limiter was a tough call, I have shifted to 3rd there, but overall I think it was faster to just hold it for a second.../phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Gerry I tried to update that time on Driving events.com it said something about a server error and the master has been notified... but I will get around to changing that... Damn that race porsche that had a 2:38 /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif Next year when / if I get a set of slicks... he will fall! /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Ya - there was a lot of traffic when you went for your ride... that person in the car with me had the 936? Porsche with the dead cluch... After he was in the ZO6 on that little run (part of the 20 minute session) he was a little upset with porsche, and a little impressed with Corvette /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Going to check the R.A. site now.

ok - I have talked to Mike Clemens, told him that I would like to go, and he said he would like to have me... Joy, another chance at road america... 2 seconds is a LOT of time, but man would it feel good to take a stock car into the high 1:30 lap time's /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Nelson that RA video was SWEEEEEEET!!!:)

-4 seconds with slicks might be possible. It sounded like you *might* have left a little time on the table heading into the carousel, but probably not since the rest of the lap looked awesome. I could instantly tell you knew what you were doing based on your lines under braking in T3 & T5. Great job!

Mike, you mean 2:30's right? Hell, even the CART guys cant break into the 1:30's /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif Speaking of CART, could you imagine making it around a full minute faster than you did? That is what a CART car is capable of. That would be one hell of a ride.

Do you think the brakes are up to handling the slicks? You were using the HT10s right? Are they eating the rotors?

Thanks... I have been thinking about that tire situation, the darn tires this car came with are so sticky, I don't know if slicks will help out that much anyway... none the less I will be working on getting a set. If nothing else for the cost of a full set of slicks, I can get 1 of these Supercar tires...

By the way, good eye on Turn 5... most people tell me that I'm way in the wrong area, and that I'm hurting myself bad. But as you know, if you set yourself on the right side of the track, you must turn left while slowing for the turn... and we know how that works out... Hello back end! /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif... Most of the instructors I have had drive a Porsche... at least they did when I was being instructed how to drive... they are diffrent car's 100% as far as how to drive them. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif
