A good head and cam package should put you in the ballpark. Darth Vetter went with Hennessey, Ron Marks went with Doug Rippie. There are several vendors selling head and cam packages. You may also want to consider Katech.

I've noticed that Spectre Works( I think that's their name ) they offer a package that will get you at that figure and a package that will put you beyond it. I think they offer competitive prices. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I don't know anything else because I haven't used them nor do know of anybody that has. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Thanks Frank,Carl, and VPRKLLR, I had kind of thought that heads, cam and headers and a crossover pipe would be right up there. I never did see any specifics of H.P. and what parts to get ??? I talked to the guys at Velocity motorsports in Houston, they in so many words said about the same. I also sent Email to a few of the places/vendors who do this stuff to ask for info but I got no responce. Now to check out the ones ya'll have mentioned? Thanks for your input:) Bill

You will have a hard time getting to 430 to 450 rwhp with a head, header, cam, rocker, pcm--"top end package". You would need a pretty radical cam that would take away some of your street ability. It might be done if you eliminated all cats, did underdrive pulleys, and all the available bolt-ons. My numbers in the sig are on Breathless' Dyno which is rumored to be somewhat on the optimistic side. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif

My thoughts...

A 383 stroker will do it.

A Stage III with an agressive cam would get you in the ballpark but an agressive cam would make driveability as a daily car suffer.

Thanks guys for all the input. I need the URL for Spectre Works?? I talked to Katech and Velocity(in Houston) and they basically say the same thing that Z06 Addict and ya'll say. Good to around 400-410RWHP. and then a big bore or real radical stuff! Well I will be chatting with a few others like MTI and Hennesey about a set up. Sent ARE a Email but no reply as yet. Thanks again for the help. 400-410 don't sound all that bad anyhow....Bill

400-410 at the rear wheels is stout. My money is on what Katech offers.

If well driven, that kind of power is high elevens in the 1/4.

450 rear wheel is going to mean radical or a total built larger displacement engine. That's when the money goes cubic.

Personally, I wouldn't use nitrous under any circumstance.

I am going with the Henessey Z600 (plus). It is a 415 stroker that puts out 600 hp (crank) and 550 ft lbs of torque. Hennessey is also going to add a 150 shot of nitrous as well. The car leaves me here in Hawaii on Thu 7/5. It should get to Houston near the end of July and the testing begins sometime in Aug. Fcalmes want to do a forum write up on the conversion.

After seeing Darth Vetters #s I ordered the Z500 head and cam package. Then Hennessey started his Z600 package (415 cid). I thought what the hell lets go for the whole enchilada!! I called John H and changed my order to the Z600. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Besides there is something about being the first. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif

For all the specs check this site: www.hennesseymotorsports.com

(This was not meant as an ad. I just think if you guys had any questions checking his site would be more efficient) /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif
