Carl,
IMO in the winter most cars (Zs incl.) show up at the dealer in this condition or worse.
Mine was cleaned, inside and out, by Les Stanford Chev. ("The Corvette King") and then put on the trailer. I had thought about flying to Detroit and driving the Shark home.
I then put the crack pipe down, and realized what shape the Z would be in when I got home. Yes, it would have over 500 miles on the clock, but with the trucks, the snow, the rocks, etc..... I'd also have a cracked windshield, chipped front end, chipped side intake scoops... not to mention the prospect of a wreck (as the tires are not the best snow tires) or damage from errant drivers. So the truck looked like the better option.
I just became the "Detail Shop", and I love cleaning cars! Instant (almost) gratification.
And after seeing the condition of mine, the change was incredible.
