It was a nice day here in TX. I took my Z out after another coat of Zaino, I was doing about 70 mph (on highway 360 south) and notice a two rounded bright headlights with fog lights coming up fast behind me. So, I gave way for it to pass me and then got right next to it; it was a shinny black porche 911. I gave it a few signs, but he didn't want to play. I was thinking oh well, I guess he didn't want to look stupid in his 80K+ car after getting spanked by a Z. So I went on my way. Up ahead is a ramp to get on to another highway (highway I-20 west). It's long and has a nice curve to it. I looked in my rear view mirror and notice that he coming up fast on my rear. I thought he had gave up already, so I was still in 6th gear. I took the curve doing about 75-80 mph, normally doing 60 mph. The Z is holding the pavement like glue, I could of add about 10 more miles to the speedo and still be alright. I notice that the porche is gaining speed and right on my tail. Ah, this guy want to play now ha!
Now, we are 3/4 of the turn, I slam it into 3rd and gave the Z a little chirp and it violently completed the turn. Jammed it into 4th and looked down on the speedo, I was doing 125 mph. Looked in the rear view mirror, the porche was nowhere insight. I slowed down and waited for him to catch up. He didn't even dare to come up next to me again, even when I was only doing about 65 mph, he's still behind me.
I guess the only place he thought he could took me was on the turn...Don't think so....
I know that porche is known for their good handlings. How is the Z06 handlings compare to the 911s? I had never driven a 911, so I don't know.
thanks
Z..on....
