hello i have been checking this site out for awhile now( 4 months or so) and decided to come out of the closet.......lol i am in a debate with myself on whether to get a 01 or a 02. from what i hear or seen advertised they are taking a few bucks off the 01's. but no one knows the price on the 02 yet. ,my problem is i am kinda stuck on getting museum delievery(sp)! i want to know from some folks who have had it and was it worth it? does it add a extra amount of time to your order? i think it is worth it but i want to hear from the experienced. and also how does going to see your car being made work? is that just for some who have connections at bowling green or know big wheels? this is whats stopping me sorta!! the decision between the ncm pick up or just stop being a chooser and take a 01. the few bucks off would hurt because i'm not rich but not poor either, i am sure you folks know what i mean!(or maybe you dont...hehe)
i am also having a hard time finding a dealer!! yeah sounds strange huh? i like to wear shorts and a t-shirt when i am not working, but i also like my polo too. well anyways i have a problem with the shorts/t-shirt. these local people think i cant afford a ZO6!!! i have sent e-mails to kerbeck and spitzer in amherst, ohio and havnt received a reply back....BLAH does anyone know a good dealer? i live in the greater cleveland area...... and going out of state wouldnt bother me on a big purchase like this!! thanks for hearing me out and i hope to join your ranks soon in the future........Dan

Welcome to the forum. Museum delivery is the best way to take delivery of your new Z06 and actually will speed up the process of your shipment. No delays with shipping your car by rail or what not. The treatment you recieve from the staff at the museum and the insight and knowledge to be gained by NCM delivery is immeasurable. I will be picking my 2002 up in late July early August. Hope to see some of you there /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_cool.gif

Hi Dan, and welcome to the forum!

Just read last night on the C5 Registry digest that Les Stanford is discounting '01 Z06's! Wouldn't hurt to give Kevin Will a call at 1-800-699-VETT, and tell him Zippy sent 'ya.

I receive a referral fee for anyone who buys from Kevin, and I split the fee 50/50 with the buyer. I would not recommend Stanford, or anyother dealer, unless I trusted them. Stanford has sold and serviced my Vets and I have always been very satisfied.

Good luck and let us know how you make out! /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Hey Dan, Glad to see you on the forum. It's your call on buying an 01 or an 02. I've ordered an 02 and I'll drive the first year depreciation out of the car. There are several dealers around who will deal below MSRP on a new Z06. Just start contacting them. Also see Corvetteforum.com for dealer leads. If your dealer has contacts in the factory, you can be there when your car is built. I've heard they may even let you do some simple assembly tasks on your car. Also, you can start the engine for the first time when the car comes off the line. Folks at the National Corvette Museum may also be able to assist on the factory viewing part of the process. There is a delay of a week or two between factory build and museum delivery so plan on ywo trips to Bowling Green. I encourage you to consider NCM delivery as those who have done it rave about the experience. Good Luck! /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif
