I made some comparative measurements to my stock 01' and Goodyears and my 03' and Nitto 555R2's today. The front 01' and SC combo weighed in at 45lbs each, the 03' mounted with Nittos weighed in at 44lbs each. 2lb savings total for the front. The rear 01' SC combo weighed 49lbs, and the 03' Nitto combo came in at 48.5lbs. 1lb savings total for the rear. I know the 02'-04' wheels are lighter but my intent is to show the actual mounted weight of the wheel and tire together. The 275/40/17 front Nitto is 1/8th inch wider than stock and the 305/35/18 is 1/4 inch wider. The Nittos are much better (not perfect) in first gear, and actually hook in second and third. With the Supercars first was useless and they even spun hard in third. Since they aren't runflats the Nittos ride so much better and are like night and day for road noise. If you don't have Nitto 555R2's yet you gotta get em'!!!

I didn't realize that the Nitto's were a little lighter tire than the F1's. Even taking into account the difference in the weight at .4 LBS. each.
Good info
01 ZO6 17x 9.5 19.6 lbs.
02 Z06 17x 9.5 19.2 lbs.
01 ZO6 18x10.5 21.4 lbs.
02 Z06 18x10.5 21.0 lbs.

Thanks for the weight info. I picked up some other tire weight info on a different thread regarding weight of each tire. On my 03Z06 the stock F1SC front is 25.1 and the stock F1SC rear is 28.7 compared to the 275 Nitto R2 front at 26.5 and the 305 Nitto R2 at 29.5. Not too much added unsprung weight and they stick much better than the F1s.

555R2's are a pretty damn good tire dollar for dollar. If you are an agressive street driver, they may even last longer than F1's because they "don't spin ! " If you don't have some, give 'em a try, you won't be disappointed.
I want mine but they're on back order!

I've had mine on the car for 3 days now and it's a huge difference over the F1's. Very pricey after paying for shipping to Hawaii and then mounting out here. I just hope to get 10K miles out of them.

Since they are a R compound tire, do they require alot of heat to get them sticky, for those occasional sprinted back road drives?
