Occasional Hard Start

Over the past year or so when I went to start my car it starts cranking, acts like it's going to fire for a split second then justs keeps cranking. It will keep cranking with no plan on starting until i kill it. It ALWAYS fires on the very next try, strange. This was happening maybe once a month or so, so I really didn't think much of it.

Now, it is happening much more frequently, as often as every other day (Every 5-10 starts or so). It seems to only happen after the car has been running, I can't recall it happening from a cold start.

Because it only "pops" once then just cranks with no plan of firring, it would tend to make sense that the fuel pump did not get power or the coils stop firring but I haven't started the troubleshooting process yet. Figured I would reach out to the community to save myself some time.

Thanks,

-John

No one can give an answer if you do not inform us if the car is 100% stock, how many miles on it, how often maintenance has been done or what repairs have been done

This could be anything from lousy Ca gas, bad tune, wacko CAM grind, air/exhaust leaks to simply dirty MAF, etc, etc, etc

I though thats why I filled out the "About Me" page as most of the pertinent info is there but I will list the high level info as well.

2007 Z06 - Engine is stock from the Intake Manifold down
Major Mods:
Twin 57mm Turbos - 6PSI Boost
Snow Meth Injection
60# Fuel Injectors (Not sure on model - Pre-Existing)
Fuel Pump Booster (Not sure on model - Pre-Existing)

Trying to make 60 lb/hr fuel injectors to look like 28 lb/hr for non WOT/Boost requires a pro who knows how to tune and you need to go for a testrun with a OBD scanner and you'll find the air/fuel/timing calibration is off.
The 2007 PCM was never designed for fuel table to support large injectors and requires far more tuning to make it work and maybe this engine does not even need that much flow.

Consider the ZR1 is 640 HP (700 tuned) and only uses 48 lb injectors with progressive fuel pressure

With your mods, also type of gas used and what the weather is sounds like your tune is not correct causing the AFR to be outside the proper fuel window needed for startup for both cold and hot starts

Not likely but for ease of mind use a fuel pressure tester off the left fuel rail and assure pressure is always around the correct 58 PSI.

Make sure the MAF sensor is properly cleaned using only a MAF cleaner product and no air leaks with all parts of airbridge from filter to throttlebody and filter is clean and not over oiled.
