I'm one of the lucky ones with a loose but fast motor... The inner two pipes (B&B) out the back quickly blacken while the outer two pipes shine. Is this where the oils going??? Why are the inner most pipes the only ones getting the oily ehaust...I'm undecided regarding the re-ring job. Any ideas???

Thanks T>

Fellow oil burner,

I am not qualified to answer with my own opinion, but according to my dealer the oil would burn up before it reached the tail pipes. Most likely it would burn up in the cats, according to my dealer.

In a few weeks I'll have a ring job. At that point, I can clean my pipes and see what happens and then report back.

HI there,
As for the blackened pipe, please do not take this as abnormal, almost all pipes that I have installed, BORla, BB, and others get black, so do not use that as a diagnostic point.
However, as for the oil consumption, once your vehicle has 5000 miles, then bring the vehicle to your dealer, and start an oil consumption test, to confirm usage.
Once that is done, I am sure that they will take care of you well, and fix what has to be done.
Take care, and let me know, c4c5

According to a recent phone conversation my mechanic had with GM, the car had to have at least 4000 miles on it. I was at 3900, but they let me squeek through anyway.
