My dealer still has not been able to come up with any confirmation for my order. I placed a deposit back in April, for a Z at msrp. This is a reputable dealership who did have several Z allocations last year, so I believe they will for 2002 as well. Are most people who have placed the order still without official order # like myself? Any forum dealership who can get me an EBZ soon, please contact me. [email protected]

Thanks,

Yep, same for me. I think this is the way it generally goes. This is when the credibility of the dealer is put to test. I have already sent a $1000 deposit to show my good faith. The rest is up to the dealer to deliver the goods "as promised".

I think cars will start rolling off the assembly line in "volume" about the middle of July. They just retooled the line, which should be a minor interruption to normal production, and I think there may have been a brief plant shutdown in recent weeks. I have heard other say they have confirmation of a "shipment" date from the factory, so perhaps by mid July the very first cars will start hitting the field for customer deliver.

Based on the timeline now in place for the 2002 Z06, I think many of us are in store for a very exciting late Summer or early Fall. I can't wait!!! /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

P.S......Make sure your dealer has an allocation. I just called my dealer to see what his allocation is...he should be getting back to me soon. He sells at MSRP.

Make room for jerboa in the "can't get my order confirmation boat". All the talk about allocations didn't materialize and now I'm getting stories about special efforts on my behalf. I posted my law on Z06 ordering on an unnamed forum. In summary, the best discounts come from dealers who don't hacve any cars to sell. This isn't fun or funny after two months. jerboa /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_frown.gif /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Only thing I can say is, do your homework and find a dealership that not only has a very sizeable allocation, but hopefully one you can also feel comfortable dealing with. I placed an order with Criswell Chev on May 16 for an EB with Museum delivery. The dealership agreed to $1,500 off of MSRP. I have a TPW of 7/23, with an event code of 3100, so its gonna likely happen on time. Also, Criswell has an overall excellent rep for service in our area (Washington D.C.) and their service manager is totally cool about bolt-ons such as air intakes, headers, etc.

Pohanka Chev in our area is another dealer in our area with a great rep. Most dealers get very few Z06's, why look for water in the desert? These cars are out there folks, just gotta do a little research...

Just my .02
