I decided to save a few bucks on my stereo install, and while mounting the amp behind the seat, got that familiar fuel smell. I tapped right into the fuel tank! :bmad: Any advise on repair other than dropping the tank and replacing! I'm so pissed I can't see straight right now!

Any help is appreciated. My beloved Z is bleeding!

You need to replace the fuel tank. Remember there are 2 saddle tanks with a connector. Depending on where you drilled you either hit one of the tamks, the connector or a fuel line.

There is no other option other than dropping the tamks.

Replace the tank or what ever you drilled through. The good news is you didn't blow yourself up. A tank can be replaced, You can't.

Yep - they have to drop the tank, open it and patch it both inside and out. In the meantime, don't smoke in the car...

Thanks guys, looks like a new tank is in my future. How bad is the install? Do i have to remove the torque tube? Might just give me the excuse I needed to get that new clutch.
Thanks,
Ty
