I have been trying for some time to find out if my '02 will have the GM steering column fix that they are retrofitting earlier models with. Do you have any information pertaining to this?

I do not want to become another horror story, I will buy the bypass kit in a heartbeat, if the new cars do not have the "fix". On the other hand, I hate like hell to have to buy a bypass for a $50k car if it is not needed. Rather put this $ towards a performance mod!

Thanks...

Hi there Blu,
Yes, the revised parts are included in all 02 models, meaning the column lock issue, piston rings, and some other smaller things that Corvette engineering were right on top of.
They are on their game, I promise.
Enjoy your 02, WITH CONFIDENCE.
I remain, c4c5

Thanks C4C5Specialist! That's great news for myself and others getting the '02s. It's not clear to me why this took so long to resolve, but at least it seems that owners of the earlier cars are going to have them fixed.

I am hoping to be up at Carlisle on 8/25, if all goes well with my Museum delivery on 8/23. Where will you and Miss Mako be located at the show. And, forgive my ignorance - how will I recognize Miss Mako? I would like to thank you in person, for all the help you provide to us.

HI there,
Carl, well, there are new part numbers on -2 for the lock situation, and no lock on the automatics.
Now, if it will work??? I cant say, but it is a new part number, so I am hopeful.
Blu, you can go to www.missmako.com for further information and you can see what it looks like.
Its kindof hard to miss, and I would like to meet all the members that I can at Carlisle. While at a cruisein in May, I met Frank, FUBU, Mean, and a few others, so if you like, stop by, I would love to meet all the members.
Best to all, c4c5
