They are up to $80.00 a set, wow I got mine for $49.00 not too long ago. I put in both sides even though I had no problem.
Harleyb,
Thanks for the pic's and tip, I agree GM should pay for this-design flaw.........
Sorry, but what is this rear bumper sag? /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_confused.gif
I looked through the instruction pics and really didn't see where those went and the sag difference.

Please give some info.

If you crouch behind your Vette and look directly at the twin slots that are located at the lower outside part of the rear bumper cover, the small portion of bodywork below the openings should be parallel to the slots. Most Vettes have either a warp (the very lowest outside bodywork curves UP to, and is thinner in the middle) or a sag (the middle is fatter under the slots). The ACI supports are like a plastic shirt collar insert that keeps a new shirts collar looking perfect while still in the package. The ACI parts actually SNAP into place, as they are made so perfectly. The tell you to use some silicone sealant just for good measure, but they really fit tight. I hope that helps. If not, I'll try another photo.

Here's a photo that might be better at showing the warp/sag.

Where do you get the ACI anti sag inserts from?

Go here:
http://www.acivette.com/aci0001.htm
Then navigate to ACICatalog then to Fiberglass Body Parts then click on the red square for Bumpers '97 and up for the rear bumper reinforcements. Good luck
HarleyB,

Are the inserts plastic or fiberglass?
Do they include the silicon with the pieces?(For $80 I hope so.)
Also, you mentioned they fit so well they snap in... do you think they would hold without using the silicon?

I'm really considering them and your answers will help me a lot.

On the flip side, the wife and I stopped by the dealership, they had about 20 vettes, 4 Z06s and they all had a droop or lift of some kind. I couldnt find one that was absolutley perfect! I have one side that droops and the other a slight lift and after looking at all those cars I thought, "If I fix mine... it wont look like any of the normal Vettes out there" /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Do they include the silicon with the pieces? No...but it's only about $2 a tube Also, you mentioned they fit so well they snap in... do you think they would hold without using the silicon? Yes they will just snap in w/o sealant, but to be SAFE (a bumpy road or backing into something while parking...) it's a good back-up safety idea to "glue" them in...after all you've spent $80!!
I think it sucks that we have to "fix" these cars..but it is nice that vendors take the time to come up with the stuff we need. Need might be too strong, as we can just be happy with what we have, or get real anal and try and make 'em perfect. It is a sickness./phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

...but a GOOD sickness.

I see in my Mid America Design catalog that they sell the fiberglass pieces for about $60. Am I correct in assuming they ARE the ACI pieces?

If someone can tell me if there is ANY difference or know of any before I decide where to order from then. Why pay $20 extra for the same piece?

I decided I'll most likely do it cause GM will never listen since there are so many out on the road already with the symptom and no acknowledgement or fix in sight from them. Also, I figure the pieces may help from any further warping in the future or add an extra barrier from muffler heat.

I posed a similar question on the other forum...

Like to hear long term updates from people who have installed the ACI Anti Sag Inserts to help with the sags and lifts people have with their rear fascias...

Who's installed them?
Have they held up over time and how long so far?
Instructions suggest using silicone? What type?
Do you feel they were worth it?

Thanks.
