Ron for daily driving, as you've descibed, there isn't any better dry weather tire for holding lateral g's other than the stock GYF1's. They suck in wet weather.
Motor Trend did a great test comparison last year and the GYF1's came in first with Michelin P2's second. The P2's were rated the best overall weather tire. Look up the thread in this forum or got to Motor Trend archive files for the article.
