I'm curious what everyone is paying for 6 months of insurance. I can't believe how low my rates are at $278 for 6 months. I'm 37 w/no accidents or tickets (on my record).

I was shocked at mine. Had been paying $625 ANNUALLY for my '97 Supra. When I called to change cars I thought the Z06 would hit me harder.....wonderful, the young lady informed me that they would be sending me a $125 refund......yup $500/year...full coverage w/ 250/500/100 liab limits; 5k med; 250 ded on comp and 500 on collision...UM/UIM also plus towing and rental coverage. Then again, I'm an old fart w/ no tickets/accidents.

Know the feeling, couldn't believe the rate either. I told my wife that I used to laugh at old gray headed farts in Corvette's when I was a kid and now here I sit. But what a lot of fun.

need to compare policies with similar limits & deductables, and, of course, whether or not the insurance company ever pays claims :-D

This poll is meaningless in a way. There are a lot of other parameters that are very important, really more important to me that cost.

I have $100M/300M liability coverage, and $500 deductible on comp and collision. My insurance company is A+ rated by Best, and Michigan is a no fault state. I pay about $350/half year.

Like VInce, I have USAA. Coverage is 100/300K liability, 50 K property damage, uninsured & underinsured motorist 100/300K, $500 deductible for Comp & Collision, Towing, Rental reimbursement. $232.50 every 6 mos.

There is something to be said about being an 18 yr. old trapped in a 55 yr. old body!!!! Oh yeah, because of Valentine 1 --- no moving violations in 11 years.............

Regards, Ken:D :D :D

USAA

Forgot to mention that I am through USAA also----serving time in the service does have its perks.

Unfortunately I am still 32--is that why my rates are higher?

I can make you all feel better. I'm paying $680 a month!!! and that is through USAA. I'm a single 24 year old male. But that covers 100/300 $500 deductable, with a $1 Million umbrella policy and renters insurance (renting a house away at college.) This also is coverage for my '72 Vette, '85 Chevy 4x4, '96 Z-28, and '98 Chevy dually 4x4. I told USAA that I was getting an '02 Z06 and getting rid of the '85 and '98 Chevy 4x4's and it is only going to go up $400 a year. The cars that are "pleasure" cars are only $120-$250 every 6 months each. It is the one 25,000 mile a year car/truck that does the damage at $2500 or more. And renters insurance is only $380 a year or so.

But in January a ticket goes off my record (2 pointer for a bogus exhibition of speed which USAA rates the same as a DUI or vehicular manslaughter!!!) So that should drop my payment from about $8,000 a year down to about $2,000 a year. Then I turn 25 in May of next year and that should drop it in half again maybe.

I learned my lesson. A lawyer would have gone to the DA with the exhibition of speed and gotten a speeding ticket for me. It would have saved me about $14,000!!!!
