My car is so low on the sides that I would need wheels on the side pipes so they would not rub /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_eek.gif My friend has a L88 with factory side pipes and I burnt the hell out of my leg getting out of his car last year, no side pipes for me. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

NO WAY!!!! I sold my 67-427 with sidepipes and I don't miss them at all. I would love to have a 67 again but I don't want sidepipes. MIKE
Not for me...too awkward getting in and out. Those constant leg burns are a nuisance /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

No way! 3 1/2 exhaust tips and a rolled Z06 exhaust plate look awesome from the back and add to the beauty of the rear end!!
I think they would be great. With the technology now I think they should be able to make a cover that keeps your leg from getting burned.I think they would look great and sound wicked with the LS6

Good question!

I would have to see them, get in & out, and hear them before forming an opinion. However, I think it would make a good option...get'em if you like, or no.

I will be opting for them in '04 on a Viper depending on how the C6 turns out. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif So I guess that makes my answer yes. Maybe I'll keep the Z too if the insurance doesn't kill me. /phpBB/images/smiles/icon_eek.gif The new Viper's side pipes don't look like they are capable of burning anyone to me, so I don't think that is any longer an issue.

Yes and the reason is a good one.
Due to the trannie and rear end design they pump heat onto each other but to make it worse the exhaust pipes are both dumping heat onto the rear drivetrain making a bad problem even worse.

My MN6, I have added a G.M trannie cooler ( is lousy designed) and can tell now how often just the trannie is getting too hot due to cooler pump coming on and off.
In Open Road Racing, those with a Z06 have a trannie temp idiot light that comes on though not till 270 degrees, anyhow mine and very Z06 had very high trannie temps in the last ORR and rear end is as bad.
If the mufflers were also moved away then would leave clean room to install coolers for both trannie and rear end.
I don't think it would work on a black car with no chrome
