Question for C4C5 Specialist - Overfilled Surge Tank

I brought my C5 in yesterday to have the coolant flushed and filled at the dealer (my '01 C5 has 11,500 miles on it, but it's 4 years old as of this month). The Dexcool looked okay though I did notice a little bit of cloudiness in the surge tank and two weeks ago I opened the cap to the surge tank (for the first time in 4 years) and added about 8 oz. of Dexcool (50/50 mix with distilled water) to bring the level up the FULL Cold Mark.

Anyway, the tech at the dealership, that I've used for the past 11 years, did the coolant drain, re-fill, etc. and he said he ensured that she idled up to temperature, etc. When he brought the car back I looked at the surge tank and it was definitely full. I drove her home (about a 20 minute drive in 78 degree weather)and the temps, etc. were normal. This morning I expected to see the coolant level in the surge tank go down to near the the Full Cold Mark (after sitting all night)... however, the surge tank is still pretty well filled up. Note: He did three coolant flush/refills on my C4 over a 7 year period with no problems. He told me that he knew what he was doing with the C5...

Should I open the surge tank cap (while cold) and remove the extra Dexcool this afternoon and make it level with the Full Cold Mark...or will the excess Dexcool (if there is any) overflow as necessary over time as she goes through heat up and cold cycles? It is possible to cause too much pressure in the surge tank by leaving it overfilled? Thanks.

P.S. The tech said that the drained Dexcool looked brand new.

I'd give it a couple more heat cycles and if the tank is still overfull, siphon out the extra.

Okay, I took it out for one more cycle, with heat on, etc. and I removed nearly a qt of Dexcool from the surge tank last night (after allowing her to cool down) and the level is just about a half inch above the Full Cold mark...I'm just going to leave it there.
