Will running different size tires temporarly, (a few hundred miles) damage the rear end? I had some side wall damage and had to buy a used smaller tire to get home. Approx. 200 miles. Does any one know if this would damage the gears? Tanks for any help. MySicZ06 Buyer beware of WCC rear ends!!

Give us an idea of the difference in tire size. IMO if the difference is more than lets say 2%, I say it will harm your differential. Your rear-end will think it's constantly going around a corner and it will wear out the clutches in the posi-tracton.

I'd be very careful. Any more than a tiny tiny difference will smoke your posi in no time. I once had to put a spare on the rear of my old Camaro and it destroyed the posi in 10 miles.

Unless it's something like a tenth or two, I wouldn't risk it. The posi replacement (and labor) will farrrrrrrrr outweigh the cost of a nice tire (or even a pair).
