I just found out that my Z06 is one of the few being recalled by GM. I heard a little about it earlier but did not think I would be among them. I don't like the idea of having my PCM reprogramed by the dealer. My car has not given me anyproblem and runs like a scalded dog. Bone stock except for the Halltech Sidewinder and Magnaflow exhaust with X pipe and best time of 12.227 about 4 weeks ago. What would you guys do?

Looks like it would have to have been brought in for service to get the "bad program"

GM is starting to sound like Microsoft. LMAO! :puke:

Maybe GM will be covertly adding that "anti wheel hop program" in the recalibration for 2001 vehicles to lower warranty issues. My Z runs great. Until I have a problem, and that's if I have a problem, I won't consider doing it. Just my $.02.

Hi there,
Ok, here is the info on this.
This is being done, due to invalid calibrations for EPA emissions certification. This is all, as there is nothing else that this reprogram does.
Also, if a GM dealer sees the recall on the VISS information system, they are required to do the work, and reprogram the system. This will ALWAYS be listed on the receipt, if done, as GM has to pay the dealership for the reprogramming of the PCM.
It takes me about a half hour to do.
There is NOTHING in the calibration programming that does anything else, in any way, so please, do not think there is.
I hope that this answers all the questions, and this reprogram will NOT harm power in any way.

As a side note fella's.........IF you're ride is in this re-call......and you DO NOT go in for the PCM re-burn, you MAY have to pay for any emissions related damage after you have RECIEVED this notice.......(i.e.) you are NOW responsible...........
Also, as a side note, you're car MAY not pass the Inspection for emissions in you're state..........( because of GM's glitch)so, I think it wise to get this done........before you pay maybe TWICE.
