Ron Zarella getting the ax and going back to Bausch and Lomb is only part of the story.
The other part is the Z-man was replaced as President of GM N.A. by Gary Cowger *and* Bob Lutz was made Cowger's associate (and probably his boss) given the added title of Chairman of GM N.A. It is said that Cowger will handle the day-to-day stuff and Lutz will work on the strategic end.
Let me tell you, Zarella's departure is an event of major significance for General Motors. Thank god the horror of "brand management" may be comming to an end.
