Then it was a mistake. There's no "rotating" our tires cause of the size difference, and i think the F1's are directional, arent they? That means no swaping them side to side either, unless you break them off the rim and mount them on the other side, which would be defeating the whole purpose anyway.

The dealer sent you the card because their system automatically does it. It is one of the dealers standard system generated cards, I would completely ignore it!

You can't rotate our tires in a traditional sense, the fronts would have to be de mounted and swapped rim to rim and then the rears would have to be done as well. I doubt a dealer would do that for 30 bucks, and I don't know if I would trust them to either... I prefer private tire shops that will use stick on weights!

Eagle F1 SC tires are ASYMMETRICAL but NOT directional, so yes they can be swapped from one side to the other. Some folks do this at the track every time they take it out, as most tracks are right or left turn biased, thus wearing one side faster than the other. Many others have done this many times, and driven hard at speeds in excess of 137mph, and have had not a single problem. Goodyear confirms that this is acceptable for these tires by calling their tech line at 1-800-387-3288. Any dealer with a knowledgeable rep will also confirm that the tires are not bothered by being swapped left-to-right.

The Owners manual specifically addresses rotation, as in 4 wheel rotation, which cannot be done, for obvious reasons. Further, the owners manual is not specifically addressing the Z06, it addresses the C5 in general, which uses symmetrical DIRECTIONAL tires (Run Flats). These cannot be reversed (side-to-side), as the water channels would not function properly. However, I have also seen these reversed at track events on dry pavement to increase tire life, again with no ill effects. They just have to be put back on their correct corner before any wet conditions occur.

I thought you could with the runflats on a C5, you just have to take the tire off the wheel then swap with the other tire to rotate them; the GY Gatorbacks were/are the same way.

IT L GO covered the actual tire issue very well above.

As for the form letter, those really bother me. I bought a Ford F350 Turbo Diesel in May 03. Shortly thereafter I received a letter, addressed to me, saying my F350 (thus they knew what kind of truck I had) was due for an oil change (and it was) and I could bring it in and have it done for $29. Sounded good, so I made an appointment, took time off work, took it in and they had the service guy tell me it would be something like $100 for the oil change... to say I was not happy is a mild understatement. Turns out the 6.0L turbo diesel takes 16 quarts of oil and there was a little 2 font note at the bottom of the letter saying some vehicles may be more.

After a long conversation with not only the service manager, but the sales manager, they would not back down on the price. I do not do business with them anymore and they did not get a "completely satisfied" rating from me. :mah:

As is always the case, IT L GO knows of what he speaks. I routinely rotate the tires on my Z at 7000 mile intervals.

Run-flats on C5's are corner specific hence, can't be rotated.

Geeze, maybe this is something I should look in to... my tires have always seemed to rotate just fine by themselves, but if Chevy dealers are sending out coupons, maybe my tires aren't rotating at all and I've just never noticed!
